Effect Of Saprolegnia On Reproductive Performance Of Oreochromis Niloticus Fish With Referring To Treatment

Abstract: The effect of saprolegina on repeoductive. performance , percentage of spents females, numbers and development of eggs oroduced and the ratio of hatching and fry survival were studied in cultured Oreochromis nilotiucus fish either naturally infected with saprolegnia or in artificial hatcheries Clinically infected fish developed focal greyish white patches distributed in the head region as well as skin and body fins especially , the dorsal and caudal ones. Treatment of infected fish group with either malachite green at a does of 5 ppm a bath for one hour or formalin at a dose of 25 ppm as indefinite bath during the first gay of stocking are quite enough to treat Saprolegniosis . Prophylactic treatment of collected eggs in the artifical hatcheries with a mixture of malachite green (0.1 mg /L) and formalin (25 mg/L) Saprolegina, which leads to complete ceases of hatching percentage and fry survival rate.
