يُعدّ الأستاذ الدكتور المساعد سامح محمد شديد من الباحثين في مجال الوراثة الجزيئية وفسيولوجيا الحيوان، ويعمل بقِسم التكنولوجيا الحيوية بمعهد بحوث الإنتاج الحيواني، كما يشغل حالياً منصب مدير المكتب الفني بالمعهد التابع لمركز البحوث الزراعية.

ساهم الدكتور سامح شديد من خلال أبحاثه العلمية في تطوير مجالات التحسين الوراثي، والتقنيات الحيوية، والتشخيص الجزيئي في الحيوانات الزراعية، مع التركيز على دمج الأدوات الحيوية الحديثة في برامج تنمية الثروة الحيوانية وتحسين كفاءتها الإنتاجية.

ويهتم حالياً بتطبيقات الوراثة الجزيئية في التكاثر الحيواني، ودراسة العلامات الوراثية المرتبطة بالصفات الإنتاجية والتناسلية، إلى جانب استخدام تقنيات المعلوماتية الحيوية (Bioinformatics) وتحليل البيانات الجينومية باستخدام البرامج المتخصصة لتفسير الأنماط الوراثية ودعم برامج التحسين الوراثي للحيوانات المحلية.

كما يشارك بفاعلية في تنسيق المشروعات البحثية وتطوير التعاون العلمي بين المعاهد والمراكز البحثية، إضافةً إلى تأهيل وتدريب الباحثين الشباب في مجالات التكنولوجيا الحيوية، والوراثة، وفسيولوجيا الحيوان، والمعلوماتية الحيوية، وهو أيضًا عضو في لجنة أخلاقيات رعاية واستخدام الحيوان (ARC–IACUC) بمركز البحوث الزراعية.

Assistant Professor Dr. Sameh Mohamed Shadid is a distinguished researcher in the field of molecular genetics and animal physiology. He works at the Department of Biotechnology, Animal Production Research Institute (APRI), and currently serves as the Director of the Technical Office at the same institute, which is affiliated with the Agricultural Research Center (ARC) in Egypt.

Through his scientific contributions, Dr. Shadid has advanced the fields of genetic improvement, biotechnology, and molecular diagnostics in livestock, focusing on integrating modern biotechnological tools into animal production programs to enhance productivity and sustainability.

His current research interests include molecular genetics of animal reproduction and the study of genetic markers associated with productive and reproductive traits, as well as the application of bioinformatics tools and specialized genomic analysis software to interpret genetic patterns and support genetic improvement programs for local breeds.

Dr. Shadid is also actively engaged in coordinating research projects, promoting scientific collaboration, and training young researchers in the fields of biotechnology, genetics, animal physiology, and bioinformatics. He is also a member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (ARC–IACUC) at the Agricultural Research Center.
