يُعدّ الدكتور رجب سبيته قنديل من الكفاءات البحثية المتميزة في مجال وقاية النباتات، حيث يجمع بين الخبرة العلمية والتطبيقية والدور المجتمعي الفاعل. يشغل حاليًا منصب أستاذ مساعد (باحث أول) بمعهد بحوث وقاية النباتات – مركز البحوث الزراعية، قسم بحوث آفات محاصيل الحقل، كما يتولى إدارة فرع المعهد بالنوبارية والإشراف على الأقسام البحثية المختلفة. التحق بالعمل البحثي عام 2012 ضمن حملة أوائل الخريجين بقرار وزاري، وتدرج وظيفيًا وفقًا للوائح المعمول بها حتى حصل على درجة أستاذ مساعد. أسهم في نشر عدد من الأبحاث العلمية في مجلات محلية ودولية محكمة، ويشارك كمُحكّم علمي في عدد من المجلات الدولية المتخصصة، مع تركيز مهني على تطوير وتنفيذ استراتيجيات فعّالة ومستدامة لمكافحة الآفات الزراعية، خاصة في المحاصيل الحقلية عالية القيمة.
