حصل الأستاذ الدكتور محمد عبد ربه أحمد على درجة الدكتوراه في محاصيل الخضراوات، يونيو (2005) من كلية الزراعة، جامعة عين شمس، القاهرة، مصر. وحصل على درجة الماجستير في محاصيل الخضراوات، مايو (2001)، كلية الزراعة، جامعة عين شمس. يشغل حاليًا منصب مدير المعمل المركزي للمناخ الزراعي. كما شغل عدة مناصب قيادية، منها مدير المعمل المركزي للمناخ الزراعي، مركز البحوث الزراعية (2022). ونائب رئيس مركز البحوث الزراعية (CLAC) لشؤون البحوث من يناير (2019) حتى أغسطس (2022). كما عمل رئيسًا لقسم بحوث الأرصاد الجوية الزراعية في مصر (2012-2016). وقد أمضى 15 عامًا في إجراء أبحاث على محاصيل الصوب الزراعية، و10 سنوات في أبحاث الري الزراعي وتغير المناخ. فيما يتعلق بأنشطته الدولية والإقليمية، شارك الأستاذ الدكتور محمد عبد ربه في العديد من المؤتمرات والاجتماعات والدورات التدريبية الدولية والإقليمية. كان مستشارًا وطنيًا لمنظمة الأغذية والزراعة للأمم المتحدة (الفاو) لإعداد تقرير وطني حول الأوضاع الاجتماعية والاقتصادية في ظل ظروف تغير المناخ (2010-2011). كان عضوًا في فريق عمل CLAC في مشروع الدراسات الشاملة لإنتاجية الزراعة في وادي ودلتا النيل (بالتعاون بين IGN France وARC) لمسح الغطاء الأرضي استنادًا إلى صور الأقمار الصناعية والمسح الميداني 2008-2010. كان الباحث الرئيسي في مشروع "إدارة المياه في ظل ظروف تغير المناخ في مصر"، الممول من صندوق تطوير العلوم والتكنولوجيا عام 2010 حتى عام 2013. قام بتدريس آثار تغير المناخ على إدارة الري لـ 160 باحثًا ومزارعًا حول تغير المناخ من عام 2009 إلى عام 2012 تحت مظلة منظمة الأغذية والزراعة خلال دورات تدريبية قصيرة في مبنى CLAC. كان منسقًا لوزارة الزراعة في برنامج إدارة مخاطر تغير المناخ الممول من قبل منظمة الأغذية والزراعة والصندوق الدولي للتنمية الزراعية من عام 2009 إلى عام 2012.
