"Abostit" and "Meselhi" are discussing with the Serbian Minister of Agriculture new horizons for cooperation between the two countries

Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Dr. Ezzedine Abustit, and Minister of Agriculture and Forestry and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Dr. Ezzedine Abustait discussed ways of opening new horizons for cooperation between Egypt and Serbia in all areas related to agriculture and the flow of exports and imports of agricultural and food commodities and products between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the State of Serbia in Egypt, Dr. Muna Mehrez, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Dr. Mohamed Soliman, Head of the Agricultural Research Center, and Dr. Ahmad Al Attar, Head of the Central Department of Agricultural Quarantine.

The two sides discussed the possibility of cooperation in the field of agricultural mechanization and the production of tractors and agricultural equipment, which is characterized by multiple models, strength and competitive prices, given the quality of the annual volume of exports, as well as cooperation in the production of agricultural crops.

The two sides discussed ways to facilitate the Egyptian delegation from the Ministries of Agriculture and Supply, during his upcoming visit to Serbia during February, as the last stages of opening a new export of wheat, as well as discussing the establishment of silos to store grain in one of the free zones in Egypt for ease of circulation, To form a joint committee comprising technical experts from both sides, including members of the Ministries of Agriculture and Supply, to submit the proposal of the agreement between the governments of the two countries to allow the importation of wheat and the identification of the imported quantity.
The two sides stressed the importance of opening the Egyptian market for some Serbian agricultural products such as strawberries and cranberries, which is the highest quality in the world and about 97% of the production is exported to the whole world, such as European countries, America, Japan and others, as well as the opening of the market for Egyptian agricultural exports such as citrus and potatoes As well as the opening of the market for the import of high quality fish from Egypt within the framework of the national project established in the Suez Canal area fish farming.
Abustit explained that a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Ministries of Agriculture of the two countries could be prepared, including technical fields of common interest as well as fields of agricultural mechanization and seed production.
The Serbian Minister of Agriculture invited Egypt to participate in the Novi Sad exhibition, which is scheduled to be held in May next year with the participation of 60 countries and the presence of more than 1500 exhibitors for various products.
