Objectives
1. Evolving high yielding varieties with high fiber and oil content and resistant to biotic and abiotic stresses.
2. Appling modern recommendations of cultural practices for the newly varieties to maximize the yield per unit area.
3. Multiplication of seed for the commercial flax varieties to cover about third part of cultivated area from the local varieties annually.
4. Improving the productivity and quality of summer fiber crops (kenaf and jute).
5. Expansion of fiber crops into the new reclaimed lands.
6. Transferring the new technologies to farmers and extension guidance through the performance of the demonstration fields to raise the productivity.
7. Introducing sisal crop as new fiber crop especially in marginal lands and tolerant the harsh conditions.
