Current Activities

Current research:
On going research of the implementation of 14 field experiment to include flax crop for all practices and treatments to maximize the productivity per unit area of the new local flax varieties in addition to studying the impact of climate change on yield and quality are currently being follow up on these experiments.
Extension and Training:
A – On Farm trials: The implementation of seven verification trials in seven governorates , the most important producer of flax to compare the new promising strains S. 16, S. 22 with farmers variety concerning the yield and its quality.
B –Demonstration fields:
• Seven training sessions were held during the month of October 2010 to prepare the extension staff to explain the most important technical recommendations of flax crop to the farmers, number of attendance about 250 specialists.
• Eight demonstration fields were sown with Giza 9 flax variety at 5 governorates during the period from 27/10 until 15/11/2010.
