Current Activities

1- Use of alternative sources of energy such as: - Solar energy for water lifting, desalination of irrigation water, controlled atmosphere for protected agriculture, use of wind energy in agricultural operations, and use of absorbed heat in soil for conditioning green houses. 2- Study of the impact of precision land leveling with laser techniques on sustainability of land productivity, including a computerized leveling model and the design of improved irrigation techniques. 3- Postharvest mechanical techniques (cooling, drying, sizing and grading). 4- Evaluation and testing of local and imported farm machinery. 5- Evaluation and testing of on-farm irrigation equipment. 6- Offering technical advice to local manufacturers. 7- Carrying out training programs in all different aspects of farming operations and on-farm irrigation techniques.
