Objectives

1.Conducting research for improvement of vaccines, sera and diagnostic reagents.
2.Production of highly efficient vaccines from the local isolates according to the international specifications for protection of animals and poultry against different diseases, in addition to preparation of combined vaccines, to save effort, time and money .
3.Focusing on molecular biology research for production of different vaccines and diagnostic reagents.
4.Increasing the exported vaccines and opening of new export markets.
-Procurement oflaboratory equipments VSVRI always modernized it’s laboratories to be updated for production of a good and efficient vaccine and biological agents.
Examples:
1)Programmable density gradient Fractionation system for separation of 146S of FMD virus.
2)Continuous flow centrifuge(20000 RPM) for purification of virus fluid for FMD & RVF.

-Building:
1)To improve the quality and quantity of FMD vaccine, VSVRI began to establish new building. The building consists of three floors on 900m2, to produce about 50 million doses of polyvalent inactivated Foot and Mouth Disease vaccine.
2) Modification of one of VSVRI department to be BL3 laboratory to produce bout 200 million doses of AI.
