The Agricultural Production Economics Research Department is one of the main departments in the Agricultural Economics Research Institute, and it was established within 8 departments after the decision to establish the Agricultural Research Center on the seventh of October 1971.
The Agricultural Production Economics Research Department includes three research units:
- Plant Production Economics Research Unit.
- Livestock and Fisheries Economics Research Unit.
- Agricultural Production Technology Economics Research Unit.
The Agricultural Production Economics Research Department is responsible for conducting studies and research in the following areas:
- The economics of producing vegetable crops, livestock, poultry and fish.
- The agricultural crop supply response.
- Farm management systems analysis.
- Analysis of farm production inputs.
- Productive costs of plant, animal and fish crops.
- Analysis and evaluation of agricultural research experiments.
- Factors affecting productivity of plant, animal and fish crops.
- The economics of agricultural production technology and its effects on agricultural production.
- The economics of plant, animal and fish production.
