Objectives

Central Agricultural Pesticide Laboratory defines its main objectives in many agricultural and environmental fields. The CAPL ensures the regulations of pesticides by the government before and after their entry to Egypt through chemical and physical inspection.
Control the manipulation of pesticides inside Egypt and trace them in the environment (water, soil, plants and animals).
Puts the regulations for the best use of pesticides in the egyptian environment.
Carrying out training courses for the workers in the field of pesticides aiming to reducing their use and to protect the environment from pollution.
The CAPL with its research departments and laboratorial instrumentations is considered as a complete place for pesticide research and their control. The CAPL represents the role of the government on controlling pesticide handling aiming to reduce its use and raise the agricultural production.
Environment protection is one of the most important demands of the CAPL through carrying research works in fields of physical and chemical analysis pesticide formulations according to newest standard scientific methods and bioassay and surveying the resistance of pests for pesticides over the whole country and follow up its efficiency in the laboratory and in the field. The CAPL carry out toxicological studies of pesticides on laboratory animals and determine their residue in agricultural products and environmental elements targeting the elaboration of the pesticide effects on the human, animals and environment. These objectives could solve and prevent the problems that caused by the use of pesticides. The CAPL offers the help by sharing in the preparation of the standard specifications of pesticides, revising them periodically and submitting the rules of their handling. Training and guiding services are also supported by CAPL for workers inside and outside it including different local and international research organizations in the fields of modern techniques in pesticide research.
