Current Activities

1-Achieving the governmental control on imported pesticides by means of chemical and biological
analysis.
2-Controlling and inspecting pesticides in the Egyptian market and tracing their residues and heavy
metals in the Environment.
3-Setting the ideal ways in dealing with pesticides under the Egyptian environment, Organizing training programs in the field of minimizing hazards and attaining safe use of pesticides. Central Agricultural Pesticide Lab. has conducted many investigation studies through some local and international projects on the use of integrated pest management (IPM) in pest control to reduce the environmental pollution. Improvement of some pesticides formulation properties and confronting the pest resistance problems are of the main duties of CAPL. Important studies has been done on the mammalian toxicity of some pesticides and how to reduce and/or avoid their hazardous effects . There are continuing investigations about pesticide residues on fruit and vegetable crops.
CAPL has produced two kinds of mineral oils for the control of some pests. It also has developed an adhesive material to be used in trapping agricultural pests.
