The Regional Center for Food & Feed (RCFF) was established in 1980 under the name of Central Laboratory for Food & Feed (CLFF) with the cooperation of the government of Denmark under the authority of the Egyptian Agricultural Organization within the Ministry of Agriculture.
In 1985 The Regional Center for Food & Feed became part of Agricultural Research Center as recommended by his Excellency Prof. Dr. Youssef Wally, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. RCFF, is still independent having special rules and regulation other than Governmental Sector.
The number of stuff members has increased from 5 persons in 1982 to 167 member – staff in 1994 ,300 in 2002 and in 2010 The number of analyzed samples has increased from less than 5000 in 1981 to more than 35000 in 1994 then 86000 in 2013 and more than 98000 samples in 2015. RCFF, is officially responsible for the quality control of both manufactured and imported feed ingredients. In addition, RCFF, shares in conducting the research plan for the development of food and nutrition for both human and animals.
RCFF started to be involved in proficiency tests with BIPEA in France , FAPAS in UK and GIPSA in USA since 2002.
The ISO IEC 17025 accreditation has been renewed for the 5th time in 2012
