About Us
This department was developed under the name " Rabies research Unite" since 1960 where the avianized live attenuted rabies vaccine was prepared from low egg passage of Floury strain of rabies virus in embryonated chicken eggs. Such vaccine was used for dogs only. Later on and since the end of 1996, the department developed an inactivated cell culutre rabies vaccine prepared on BHK-21 culutres from ERA strain. Such vaccine was found to suitable for vaccination of all animal species. Also since the same time the department produced cell culture live attenuated canine distemper and canine parvo vaccines. In addition and since 2001, the department produced the inactivated cell culture bovine ephemeral fever vaccine.
