About Us

-Oils and fat research department is one of the departments in Food Technology Research Institute (FTRI) which was previously belonged to Horticultural Research Institute.
-It is one of the most important scientific department deals with oils and fats technology research field and their products. It is the leader in the development of olive oil and table olive production.
-The staff members of oils and fats department consist of more than 20 researchers with their Ph D degrees in oils and fats research field besides a group of co-assistant staff members and agriculturists.
-The department managed to achieve more than 60 scientific theses, master and Ph Ds and more than 300 scientific research papers published in national and international conferences and journal.
- All of them aimed to the development of oils and fats industry which contributed to the decrement in the fats and oils production gab.
- Oils and fats research department had participated in many research projects such as California, National Agricultural Research (NARP) and the maximization of olive oil production and the utilization of its waste project.
-It also contributed to provide the olive oil makers with the most appropriate and suitable scientific methods for the production of high quality olive oil and table olive, to compete with the international standards and become a good source of hard currency.
