Achievements

-Establishment the headquarter of weed research central laboratory, which include library to carry out workshops and seminars and weed herbarium administration. -Preparing expert systems on wheat, faba bean and parasitic weeds -Weed control of wild oat in 1.7 millions feddans in wheat fields through the last ten years attained on with increase in wheat productivity. -Preparing technical recommendations of herbicides in field crops, horticulture and vegetables crops. -Studying proper better crop sequences for weed control in wheat. -Weed survey and preparing data base for dominant weed species in wheat and faba bean fields in 20 governorates. -Conducting extension programs for training extension agents and pest control specialists for weed identification and control methods. -Printing first colored manual for weed identification and control in wheat. -Conducting research on yield losses due to weeds in different field and horticulture crops. -Evaluation of Phytomyza orobanchia fly as biocontrolling agent on feeding on broomrape seeds (Orobanche spp.) in legumes and vegetable crops. -Carrying lots of research on parasitic weeds and methods of controlling these weeds. -There is a lot of achievements which varied from basic & adaptive research and technology transfer which is backbone for sustaining agriculture production in Egypt -
