Achievements

1- Continuous up-grading of water consumptive use and water requirement values for
field crops under different irrigation systems theoretically via different empirical
formulae and actually through the field experiments executed in different areas.
2- Enhancing the production per the water unity for different crops under Delta, Middle and Upper Egypt conditions i.e. more crop per the drop .
3- Improving surface irrigation performance, in order to conserve water and land resources, through some irrigation practices.
4- The co-operation with the Central administration of agricultural Extension in :-
a-Releasing monthly brochure including data of 20 agro-meteorological
stations furnished in different areas of Egypt.
b- Scheduling irrigation for cotton and wheat crops via accumulated daily
pan – evaporation records which revealed increases reached 1-1.5 kentar
and 1-2 ardab for cotton and wheat yields ,respectively.
5- The co-operation with field crops research institute to select some drought- resist
wheat strains .
6- Concerning agro-meteorological and climate change fields :-
a- Studying and determination the impacts of climate change on water requirements and water consumptive use for crops.
b- Studying different methods in order to adapt and mitigate the negative climate impacts on crop and water productivity.
7- Implementing different training programs for extension engineers about :-
a- Integrated management for soil and water resources.
b- Operation and maintenance of agro-meteorological stations.
