Achievements
Weed Research Program activities according to 2005 / 2011 work plan during the period between 1/7/2008 to 30/6/2009 included three components as follows:
I- First: Research and experimental activities:-
2008/09 winter season: The winter experimental program are conducted in winter season 2008/2009 in wheat , barley , flax , sugar beet , transplanted onion and sugar beet crops according to the official program of pesticides committee , Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in 8 Research Stations Sakha , Ismailia, Gimmeza , Sids , Nubariak , Mallawi , Shandaweel , El Serw to evaluate the efficacy of herbicides on annual broad , grassy and perennial weeds to make official recommendations of weed control in field crops as follows:-

? Second: Training, Demonstration and extension activities :-
A. Extension activities :-
• Answer 2000 questions about weed problem from farmers and specialists through the Internet and personal communication about methods of weed control in field, horticulture crops and ditch banks.
• Publishing extension bulletins about weed control in cooperation with Central Agric. extension administration as follows:
• Bulletin No:1141 "integrated control for dodder / 2009
• Bulletin No:1149 "integrated control for Orobanche / 2009
• Bulletin No:1155 "integrated control for weeds / 2009
• Modification bulletin about integrated wild oats control
• Two weed scientist's presence the training course 'Integrated pest control" during the period 10-13/3/2009 at the Pesticides Cent. Lab.
• Weed scientist's staff presence the work shop of Field Crop Res. Institute during the period 26-27/8/2009 to discus the winter crop programs
• Lectures in integrated weed control at different governorates
According to technology transfer components, wheat Res. program

• Stuff Dr. Moawad Fadl-Allah Ibrahim trained the specialists of sugar beet on " integrated weed control in sugar beet " during the period 26 – 30/7/2009. Sugar Crops Res. Institute
Demonstration activities:-
A. Demonstration extension meeting were conducted for integrated weed control in wheat in cooperation with Central Agric. extension administration and technology transfer components, wheat Res. Program as follows:-
1- December 2009:20 extensions meeting at different governorate in North and South Egypt.
B. Demonstration extension meeting were conducted for integrated Orobanche control in cooperation with Central Agric. extension administration extensions at each of Behira , Dakahlia, AL-Fayoum and kafr El-Shekh governorate during January, February and March2009.As follows :-
1- January 2009 : 4 extensions meeting at each of Behira , Dakahlia, AL-Fayoum and kafr El-Shekh governorate .
2- February 2009: 4 extensions meeting at each of Behira , Dakahlia, AL-Fayoum and kafr El-Shekh governorate .
3- March 2009 : 4 extensions meeting at each of Behira , Dakahlia, AL-Fayoum and kafr El-Shekh governorate .

• Three of Weed Res. Lab. staff trained the specialists of sugarcane crop in the principles production governorates (Minia, Sohag, Quena, Luxor and Aswan) on "Integrated weed control inter and outsides Sugarcane crop" during 10/11/3/2009 period.

• Presence Dr. Ashraf Mohamed Fadl –Allah presence the training course "Pesticides Registration: National and International Rules" at the central Pesticides Lab. during 22-24/2/2009 period.

• Mr Saied Dahy Mohamed weed specialist at Ismailia Agric. Res. St. traveled to Al-Byda city,Libya for presence the " Regional Work Shop On Weed Risk Assessment " which conducted by cooperation FAO and Libyan Agric. Organization during 22-25/3/2009 period.
