Current Activities

1 - Continuation of survey of fungal, viral, bacterial and nematode diseases which attack the Egyptian crops in the valley and newly reclaimed lands and carrying-out the proper methods and tactics of disease management.
2 - Design of strategies to combat the losses caused by diseases and to increase crop yield by breeding for resistance and using natural extracts, solarization, intercropping system and disease forecasting.
3 - Cooperation with Plant Quarantine Administration in testing imported and exported agricultural products and consequently protecting the Egyptian crops from any exotic new diseases and increasing exportation to different international markets.
4 - Transfer new technology to farmer through extension programs and on farm trials.
