Quality performance of Agricultural Mass Media Agents

Abstract: The main objectives of this study are : to develop scale to determine quality performance degrees of agricultural mass media agents, then determine their degrees obtained according to the proposed scale , also identifying the relationship between quality performance degrees of agricultural mass media agents in agricultural mass media services concerning different items of the scale and the respondents independents variables.
The study was conducted in ten governmental mass media establishments belong to agricultural sector which are professional in: editing, publishing printed matters, extension and technical bulletins , and editing for agricultural programs to T.V. and Radio .
The study was performed in four governorates: Giza, Ismailia, Dakahlia, Menia and Mariout zone. The total number of the sample was 110 respondents , they were randomly chosen representing 45.5% of the population ( 242).
Personal interview questionnaire was utilized to collect data from respondents through Jan. till med of Feb. 2010. For presenting and analyzing collected data: simple correlation , step – wise multiple correlation and regression analysis, Cronbach Alpha coefficient, Arithmetic Mean , standard deviation , frequencies and percentages statistical criteria were utilized.

The study revealed the most important following results:
1- The validity of the scale in order to determine quality performance of agricultural mass media agents was 0.7970 according to Alpha Coefficient.
2- 70.9% of respondents had high quality performance.
3- Positive significant correlation was found between mass media agents' performance for scale items and the majority of independents studied variables.
