THE TRAINING NEEDS OF AGRICULTURAL EXTENSION AGENTS IN FILED OF PRODUCTION AND MARKETING CLEAN MILK AT KAFR EL-SHEIKH GOVERNORATE

Abstract: This research aimed mainly to determine the training need level of the respondents regarding the recommendations of production and marketing clean milk, and identifying the relationship between the respondents training need degree and some independent variables under study, also revealing some variables explaining the variance of dependent variable, finally recognizing milk production and marketing problems according to the respondents view.
The study was conducted at six districts (Kallen, El-Reyad, El=Hamoul, Desouk, Kafr El-Sheikh, and Motobes) in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate, Data were collected personal interview questionnaire from random sample amounting to 138 respondents representing about 32% from the total number of agricultural extension agents in theses six chosen districts. Person simple correlation coefficient, Step-Wise multiple regression, Arithmatic mean, Standard deviation, beside tables, Frequencies, were used to analyze data statistically.
The main results of this study were as follows:
1- The respondents training need level was high in four processes regarding the technical recommendations of production clean milk as follows: artificial insemination (fortifications), vaccines of mil; cattle, diseases of mil; cattle. Proper feeding of milk cattle. This was moderate in eight processes as follows: right milking, right feeding of calves, calves folds, drying udder, choosing of milk cattle, preparation the open folds, preparation the stables with stalls, and choosing the improved stallions.
2- The respondents training need level was moderate in four process regarding the technical recommendations of marketing clean milk as follows: studying market and predication of the prices, determining marketing costs, marketing functions and services of milk, and transmission and handling milk.
3- There was a positive significant relationship at 0.01 level between the respon¬dents training need degree with the technical recommendations of production clean milk, and the following independent variables: degree of exposure to agricultural information resources, training in milk field.
A relationship was found but at 0.05 level with each of following independent variables: degree of respondents teaching, and long time of service in agricul¬tural extension work field. A negative significant relationship at 0.05 level was found between the dependent variable and each of following indep¬endent variables: age, and long time of service in agricultural work field. According to step-wise results, the study pointed that there are three variables namely: training in milk field, degree of respondents teaching, and degree of exposure to agricultural information resources explain most variance (19.8%) in the degree of the respondents training need degree regarding technical recommendations of production clean milk.
4- There was a positive significant relationship at 0.05 level between the respo¬ndents training need degree with the technical recommendations of marketing clean milk, and the following independent variable: communication. But this relationship was the same level with long time of service in agricultural work field. According to step-wise results, revealed that the variable of degree of communication explain (4.3% ) of the variance in the degree of the respo¬ndents training need degree regarding technical recommendations of mark¬eting clean milk.
5- concerning the problems of milk production and marketing the results reve¬aled that these problems from the respondents views as follows: illiteracy of cattle breeders with the technical recommendations of production clean milk, lack of diffusion of the artificial insemination among them, shortage efforts in the field of genetic improvement and selection, also shortage knowledge of breeders regardings marketing process of milk, and low level of veterinary care.
