Developing A scale for farmers attitude towards participation in the farmers Field schools

Abstract: This study aims at developing a scale for farmers attitude towards participation in the fanner field schools (FFS ) to fulfill this aim, Lickert method was used for developing the scale, To standardize the scale and test its validity and reliability, data were collected from 70 respondents participation in FFS in Kassaseen district, Ismaillia govemorate during October 2003. The scale consisted of 33 items were eliminated as its degree were not suitable to be included in the scale.
The final scale consisted of 29 items and it was highly reliable, as its reliability rated to 0.8323. Face validity rated to 82% based on the opinions of 13 judges in the field of agricultural extension and rural sociology. Internal validity rated to 0.833 and statistical validity reached 0.935. the results of internal consistency test showed that each of the three scale components and the total degree of the scale were consistent, which means that all the scale components were consistent.
The results of the study recommended to use this scale when studying farmers, attitude towards participation in FFS as it is considered a good indicator for identifying farmers' attitudes towards participation in FFS
