Some social variables related to different developmental roles played by rural families in Ismailia and Kalubia governorates.

Abstract: The main objectives of the research were: 1- To identify social
variables of rural families, 2- to identify the way rural family plays each role of
its developmental ones (home role-productive role-social role-societal role
political role), 3-to determine nature of relationship between the way rural
family plays each role of the developmental ones and the studied social
variables, 4- to determine nature of relationship between the way rural
families conduct each of developmental roles and other developmental roles.
The research data were collected during the period October–
November 2005, A sample of 300 rural families was drown from villages of
Kassasin ( El-Tall El kabir District , Ismalia Governorate) and Nasseria (Tukh
District, Kalubia Governorate ), With a rate of 150 rural families /village. A
written questionnaire and face to face interview were used in collecting the
study data. Frequency tables, Percentages, and Simple correlation coefficient were used in analyzing the collected study data.
The main finding of the research were as the following:
- For home developmental role it was found that 40.3% of the studied rural families played this rote in medium way , 32% of the studied rural families were of high role, and the 27.7% of the studied rural families were of low role.
- There was a significant relationship between the way of family plays home developmental role and each of the variable : Husband age, husband education, wife's education ,family type, marital period, number of male, family members housing condition, satisfaction towards rendered village services and monthly income.
- For productive role was found that there was a significant relationship between the role and each of the variables: Husband age, housing condition, agricultural hand ownership, formal organizational membership, and family monthly income.
- The research finding revealed also that there was a significant relationship between rural family societal development role and each of the variables: husband education, , number of male in the studied rural family, housing condition, appliances ownership, agricultural hand ownership, and formal organizational membership.
The obtained research findings indicated that there was a significant relationship between rural family political development role and each of the variables: husband age, number of male , wife's education, appliances ownership, agricultural hand ownership and formal organizational membership.
There was a significant relationship between each of home role and productive role, productive role and societal role , productive role and political role, social role and societal role , political role and societal role. The study found that the concerned should take into consideration importance of emphasizing different causes that increase the way rural family plays positively its developmental roles including different social factors with import on husband and wife in dealing with those roles.
