Rural people knowledge regarding farm wastes recycling and environment conservation in some villages in sharkia governorate.
Abstract: The study aims at determining rural people Knowledge levels of economic importance and environment Conservation and methods of getting ride of farm wastes, also the relationship between these knowledge levels and some personal characterstics.
Data were collected by a questionnaire through personal interview from a random Sample of 200 respondents. The study was implemented in Four villages in Sharkia governorate representing the largest cropping area. Chi-squre test, Spearman's correlation coefficient were used for data analyzing.
Results showed that about half of respondents have moderate level of knowledge regarding both the farm wastes recycling and methods of getting ride of these wastes, and have high level of know ledge concerning environment conservation, On the other hand, significant relationships were found among respondents knowledge levels regarding farm wastes recycling, environment conservation, methods of getting ride of these wastes and the following personal characterstics: Sex, age, farm work professionalism, education level, income, leadership, innovativeness, cosmopoliteness, organization membership, farm work experience, farming holding size, animal holding size.
