Extension knowledge needs of Egyptian rural woman for the recommendations of maize production in Sharkia and Dakahlia governorates [EGYPT]

Abstract: This study aims at determining:
I- The extension knowledge need level of rural women respondents for the recommendations of Maize production.
The difference between the extension knowledge need level of the respondents for the recommendations of the crop in the studied areas.
The relationship between the extension knowledge need level of them for these recommendations and each of the studied variables.
Preposing a plan of work for extension program to develop the rural woman in Maize roduction.
To acheive the study objectives a sample of I00 rural women respondents was selected from Diarb Negm and Meet Ghamr districts of Shrkia and Dakrhlia Governorates reepectivly with a rate of 50 responders for each.
Data were collected by interviews using a pretested
Questionnaire. "T" Test and qui Squar were used for data analysis.
The results of the study were that:
I- The extension knowledge need level of the rural
women respondents ranged between 20% and 96% for Maize recommendations.
No differences were found between the extension Knowledge need level of the respondents for the crop recommendations in the studied areas.
No relationship was found between the extension Knowledge need level of the respondents and each of the studied variables.
Regarding to the study results an extension plan of work was preposed to develop the rural women in Maize production.
