A study of some variables related to farmers' formal leadership in an Egyptian village

Abstract: This study was carried out in a village in kafre Saad District in Damietta governorate, a random sample of 40 formal leaders of farmers were selected Data were ca collected through personal interview based on protested questionnaire. This research aimed to study the relationship between farmers` degree of formal leadership , as a dependant variable, and 14 independent variables .
Simple correlation analysis showed that 6 variables of the 14 studied variables were significantly associated with farmers' degree of formal leadership. Step - wise multiple correlation and regression analysis revealed that only two independent variables namely , number of occupation and formal social
Participation were significantly associated with degree of formal leadership to the extent that these two variables jointly contributed to 89.11 percent of the Participation , of formal leadership. This means that 10.89% of the variation of formal leadership of Farmers remained to be accounted for in future studies.
