Extension knowledge needs of Egyptian rural women related to drying of vegetables and fruits, A field study in some villages of El-Fayyoum governorate. [EGYPT]
Abstract: This study aims mainly to determine the Extension knowledge needs of Egyptian rural women in the field of the vegetable and fruits drying operations.
Data were collected through personal interview to fill a questionnaire from 100 rural women in two villages in El-Fayyoum Governorate
Percentages and chi square were used in analysing the data .
From the results obtained it was concluded that the majority of respon¬dents had a high knowledge needs on :
1. Some drying steps of Dates , Okra and Jew's Mallow.
2. Most drying steps of Apriocots and Grapes .
3. All steps of pressed Dates making .
According to the previous result , the study tried to direct the interest of the Extension personnel to exert effort to develop programs for rural women to meet their needs in this field of study.
