Study of the effect of some economic and personal factors on the Egyptian rural women's participation [EGYPT]

Abstract: Women have an important role in farm work, as result the need extension activities, to plan those activities we must know the actual role of women and the factors which, affect this role. This study has been planned to identify the relationship between women's contribution in family work and some independent factors such as: family size, Agricult¬ural income, gross income, percapita income, the degree of rural woman for the recommended practices of the production of Maize and the degree of knowledge need of rular woman for the recommended practies of the production of Rice.
The study was conducted in Awlaila, Met-Ghamr district, Dakahlia, governorate, as the researchers found, a long cultivated area of Rice and Maize. A random sample of 84 Land-holders cultivating both crops, who have been interviewed. Data was also collected from the central adminstration of economics, ministry of Agriculture.
Simple correlation analysis were used in analizing collected data.
The results of this study revealed that:
a- There is no significant relationship between women's contribution in family work and each of the following factors: family size, agricultural income , Gross income, percapita income, and the degree of knowledge need of rural women for the recommended practice of the production of Maize.
B- There was a significant relationship at 0,05 level between women's contribution in family work in the production of Rice and the degree knowledge need of rural women for the recommended practice of its production.
