Community satisfaction among extension agents

Abstract: This study aimed to investigate the influence of certain variables on community satisfaction among extension agents. Extension agents personal characteristics, local community characteristics and local services satisfaction were sorted as the relevant independent variables.
Data were collected from a sample of extension agents working in Qutor district, Gharbia governorate, and Metoubis district, kafr El-Sheikh governorate. Simple and multiple correlation were used in addition to partial regression to analyze the data.
The results showed
I- There were significant bivariate relationships between community satisfaction
among extension agents and each of these variables income, attitude toward change, local community size, level of living and age. All of these relationships were in the expected direction except attitude toward change.
2- There was significant multiple correlation between all the thirteen Variables (extension agents personal characteristics variables and local community characteristics variables) and community satisfaction among extension agents Although only three variables had significant contribution in explaining variance in the dependent variable. These variables were urban contact, local community size and media exposure.
3- There was a significant relationship between the satisfaction with each local service and community satisfaction among extension agents except the veterinary service.
4- There was a significant multiple correlation between all the thirteen variables (satisfaction with local services) and community satisfaction among extension agents. Although only three of them contributed significantly in explaining variance in the dependent variable. These variables were security services, political services and marketing services.
5- There was significant multiple correrelation between all the twenty-six independent variables and the extension agents community satisfaction. Although six variables contributed significantly in explaining variance in the dependent variable. These were satisfaction with security services, work opportunities, social services, political services, urban contact and media exposure. All of these relations were on the expected direction except work opportunities.
