safety use of pesticides between information given to farmers by agricultural extension agents and its implementation

Abstract: The study aims to determine and identify the degree of farmers' exposure to extension messages about sufety use of pesticide+, as agriculture extension agents' inform farmers, and the degree of its implementation, and the differences between them .
The study was conducted in eight villages in El Gharbis and
Karr El Sheik governorates from February to April 1994 , group+, of respondents were interviewed , one represents agriculture extew nsion agents, the other group represents vegetables and fruits cu¬ltvators .
A random sample was chosen from agents and farmers.Une theoriti¬cal hypothesis was tested in its zero form . The statistical criteria used in data presentation and analysis were , means variance, stand¬ard deviation, differece coefficient and " Z " teat .
Data clarified a relative increase in the degree of farmers' expo—sure to extension messages about safety use of pesticides Also data showed a relative decrease in farmers' implementation to safety pra¬cticed . Results showed significant differences between what extension
agents inform farmers and what they implement use concerning safety transporation, storage, spraying, behavior while sown on soil, and interpret symbols and cautions on the containers. The study recommended to improve communication Linkages between extension agents and farmers as well as improving extension me¬thods and means to achieve similarity between cognitive contents of extension messages and farmers' cognition in order to increase its implementation .
