A study of utilizing some technological techniques in agricultural production in the Newly reclaimed areas

Abstract: The study aims to identify the extent of utilizing technology in agricultural production in new communities on the reclaimed lands , identify its techniques and methods as a dependent variable and determine its relationship with each of the following :
I- The level of farmer's education., 2-Size of Agricultural land holding., 3- The time length of landseettlement in the new community 4- Having additional job., 5- Marital statue. 6-Family size., 7- Nume¬rous Agricultural activities., 8- Numerous sources of Agricultural, information., 9- Cosmopoliteness degree., 10- The degree of social pa¬rticipation., 11- Self role percepation, I2- Opinion leadership de¬gree., 13- Consistance degree with the new community., I4- The degree of farmer's attitudes toward group work ., 15 - The degree of far¬mer's satisfaction with the new community.
The study also aims to determine the most important variables interpreting the variance of the dependent variable, and the differences between youth graduates and benefited settlers and other tra¬ditional farmer's in utilizing technology in Agric.
production . Besides, identifying the most important variables interpreting each of their variances . Finally determining models for predicting the utile¬ of the two studied categories in order to achieve these aims descriptive and analytical approaches are used, seven statistical hypothesis were stated in its zero besides using descriptive from to the rest of the objectives . The study was conducted in El-Boatan in Nubaria area, a stratified random sample represent¬ing the two main settlers categories, which consist of 115 respondents ( 46 youth graduates and 69 benefited farmers ) Collecting data was done by personal interview with and a prete¬sted questionnaire . Simple and multiple correlation, step-wise regression method, " T test and " F " test were used for data analysis .
The results revealed the following :
1 - There is about 41.7% of farmers utilizing technology to a large degree in agricultural production, it is due to lack of services, labour and difficult circumstances in the newly reclaimed areas . The study clarified that the type of tech¬nology is considered the target aim for technology dissemination especially for using biological disease control, seed steriliser, high quality varieties of cattle and sheep which were utilized in a narrow scale in the studied area , also giving more attention to technology used in a medium degree such as utilizing aukadin, developing agricultural market inf¬ormation systems, conducting irrigation water schedule among farmers, and using improved variety of poultry.
2 - There is a positive simple high significant relationship betw¬een the dependent variable and each of these variable : the lave of farmer's education , numerous sources of agricultural information, the degree of social participation, self role perception, and the degree of farmers attitudes towards gr¬oup work also a positive simple significant relationship with the time length of land settlement, cosmopoliteness opinion leadership, and a negative simple high significant relationship with family size .
3 - There is no simple significant relationship between the depe¬ndent variable and each of these independent variables; Agric. land holding , haring additional job , marital statue , numerous Agric. activities, the consistence with the new community, and the degree of farmer's satisfaction with the new commu¬nity .
4- The study suggests predictive models for utilizing technolo¬gy in Agric. production, the most important studied variables interpret about 29% of its variance are : I - the level of farmer's education. , 2 - Self role perception. , 3 - Opinion leadership . , 4 - The degree of farmer's satisfaction with the new community .
5 - There is a significant difference between graduated setters and the traditional farmers in the new communities on the re-claimed lands in utilizing technology in agricultural production.
