Studying some characteristics cattle breeders which affect diffusion of some technological ideas in agricultural Mariot region, Alexandria

Abstract: This study aims to identify characteristics of cattle breeders which give the possibility of orienting and knowledge innovations of cattle breeding, its percentage of application, and problems facing the implementation.
The study was carried out in Mario' region in Alexandria. Size of sample (121) respondents were selected from 2 villages in a systematic random sample Data were collected by a specific questionnaire through personal interview Statistical methods used for analysis of data included simple correlation, Multiple regression analysis, in addition to frequencies and percentages.
The results of this study revealed that:
1. There are positive significant correlation at 0.01 level between knowledge degree of technological ideas ( The dependent variable) and each of the following independent variables: educational level, degree of exposure to information medium, degree of leadership, Aspiration level, degree of seeking innovation, and knowledge level in cattle breeding.
2. There is a positive significant correlation at 0.05 level between knowledge degree of technological ideas and the size of land possession.
3. There is a negative significant correlation at 0 05 level between knowledge degree of technological ideas and the age.
4. There aren't significant correlation between the dependent variable and each of the following independent variables degree of organizational membership, size of animal possession, and degree of communicative cosmopoliteness.
5. The independent variables which had significant correlation with the dependent variable had explained 38%. of the variance of knowledge degree of technological ideas.
6. The most diffusion, application, and continuation of application idea were in inoculation of cattle.
7. The most important source for diffusion of technological ideas were : neighbors, veterinary unit, agricultural extension, radio, and T.V.
8. There were seven problems in the application of artificial insemination idea, and three problems also were found in the application of each of the following ideas: machine-milking, and early weaning.
