House environmental health and its relationship with some socio-economic variables an investigation study in Behera governorate

Abstract: This study objectives are: Identifying level of House Environmental Health In Behera Governorate, Arranging the studies villages in order according to level of house environmental health, and determining its relationship with some of their socio-economic variables.
Data were collected using a questionar in personal interview from a randome sample of 400 rural women at ten villages in Behera governorate, data were analyized using percentages, frequencies and rank correlation.
The results of the study indicated that:
1 - About 50% of the houses are in the housing area of the village, 4% are in the agricultural area and the rest are by the side of irrigation and drainage canals .
• Most of the houses ( about 85% ) are build of red bricks, about 11.59% are build of duly, about 3.5% are build of cement bricks .
• About 52% of the houses are painted with lime, 9.5% with oil, 16.5% with mud, and 22% are without painting.
• About 33% of the houses have cement Hoots, about 31% have flagstone, and 2% have mud floor.
• About 72% of the houses have separate entrance for the animal yard, and aboud 23% have one entrance for both family and the animal yard .
2 - According to the degree of house environmental health, the ten villages showed three levels : the frist high score level include three villages, the second score level include three villages and the lowest score level include four villages.
3 - The correlation relationship studied showed that there is a significant positive relationship between the level of house environmental health and holding electrical appliances.
4 - No significant correlation was found between house environmental health and mean of ages, mean of family size, family type, percentage of litracy, mean of farm family size and percentage of non - agricultural job for husbands.
