The relative importance of sources of information to female opinion rural leaders in some fields of agricultural production in an Egyptian village

Abstract: The study aims to determine the relative importance of sources of information to female opinion rural leaders in four fields of agricultural production, determining the degree of similarity or differences of strata for these sources of information to female opinion rural leaders in the Four studied agricultural fields and also detemining the relationship between some independent variables and the degree of preferance of the female opinion rural leaders to their sources of information in the various (4) studied agricultural fields .
Data was Collected from Kom El Ahmer villag in Giza governorate through personal interview pretested questionnaire from a regular systematic random sample from female and wives of male land holders records in the agricultural Cooperative . amounting to (174) interviewees. (58) opinion female rural leaders were determined having the qualification of opinion leader through out the socio-metric method.
. In analyzing and presenting data, frequencies, tables, Percentages, analysis of variance from the second degree of' Fredman statistical Criteria were utilized,
Results revealed the following:
First : - Unofficial sources of inforation took the leading and first postion for the interviewees as relative, neighbours and opinion leaders in fields of plant production, breeding and treating poultry and food industries, while the husbands and official sources were in the field of treating and care of cows and buffaloes. The extension publications took the latest position in all fields of study
Second :-There is a significant relationship between age of interviewee, size of family land holding, size of family income and type of the field on the 0, .05 or 0.01 level and the degree of preference of rural female opinion leaders to their sources of information in the four studied fields of agricultural production .
