Content analysis of research bulletins issued tiff agricultural extension and rural development research during third five year plan( 1992-1996 ).
Abstract: This study was aimed at analyzing the content of Research Bulletins issued by Agricultural Extension and Rural Development Research Institute during the third five year plan. Data was based on up the whole set of Research bulletins issued from 1992 to 1996 ( 85 bulletins). Frequencies and percentages were used as statistical means.
The main results of this study were summarized as follows: Abut half of bulletins ranted between 20 to less than 30 pages, and more than third bulletins had less than 20 pages.
-The main Research areas of the bulletins were as follows: Extension programs (31.77%), Extension organization and training (20%), Extension Teaching methods and aids (18.82%), Rural community (16.47%), and Rural women in development (12.94%).
- Research bulletins with 3-4 objectives represented about half' of' the studied bulletins, and mine than quarter of the bulletins had 5-6 objectives, on the other hand 37.65% of the bulletins had no hypothesis while 36.47% had 1-2hypothesis.
-The majority of the studied bulletins ( 92.44) used personal interviews, 4.71% used content analysis, and 2.35% used case study, as a research method to achieve research objectives.
-An observed variance was found regarding sample size, or population items. The role of the most frequented number %vas ranged from 100 to less than 150 respondents.
-statistical means were used for analyzing data with percentages ranged from 83.53% to 1.18%.
- More than two thirds of the bulletins were without direct recommendations, 10.59%.
- More than two thirds of the bulletins were direct recommendations, 15.29% had 4-6 recommendations, and the rest (14.71%) had 7 recommendations or more.
- More than half of the bulletins (58.82) had references ranged between 10 to less than 20 per each.
Five recommendations were taken to increase identify and appliance of bulletins results.
