Quality of the agricultural extension service at the agricultural extension centers (AEC) in Egypt

Abstract: This research aimed to: Develop and standardize a scale for measuring the Agric. Extension service Quality (AES) for the Agricultural Extension centers (AEC) in Egypt, determine the differeccs among (AEC) officers regarding their perceptions, views about farmers expectations and what actually dome at the (AESQ), and to determine the difference between their perceptions and views about farmers expectation, and their perceptions and their percept ins and what (AEC) actually perform.
The research was conducted on the (AEC) at (11) governorates which had (AEC) representing about 50 percent from the total numbers of (AEC) built in Egypt.
Four (AEC) officers were selected from each governorate and 5 officers from Behiera and Noubaria, area. The total size of the sample reached 45 officers to reprenting about 46%, from their population.
Data were collected through a designed scale for (AEC) contained five dimensions including 24 items.
Simple correlation. Coefficients, correlation Matrix, validity and reliability Coefficients two-way analysis of variance and (t) test were u441 statistical tools fur analysing the data.

The tested scale showed high validity and reliability for its dimensions and for each item.
There were significant differences among the (AEC) officers regarding each of their perceptions, views about farmers expectations and what actually been performed for the (AESQ) at each of the item score.
Data revealed also that there were significant differences related to score the physical and material arrangements and reliability dimensions dealing with the differences between (AEC) officers perceptions and views about farmers expectations of (AESQ).
Also there were significant differences related to physical & material arrangements, responsiveness and security dimensions dealing with the differences between (AEC) offiers perceptions and what actually been performed for (AECQ).
The study results should raise and promote the (AESQ) to meet the perceptions and views about the farmers expectations and views about the farmers expectations from the view points of (AES) officers.
Also the Agric. Extension organization should increase its resources and exenditures and to about a clear, accurate and defined policy for extension service Quality as a system and as a methodology. And to incite and support the extension personnel to develop their motivations and abilities to perform the ext. services with a distinctive Quality.
