Rural women's role the production process and decision-making of tomatoes crop in some Egyptian villages

Abstract: The aim of this research is: To determine the role of rural women in the production pieces and decisions making of tomatoes crop, to determine the effects of some personal and situational factors as well as the effect of the differences of production area upon the rural women's role.
The research was carried out on a systematic random sample of rural women amounted to I47, they represent t0 percent of tomatoes (farmers wives iii four Villages which are : Manshat Soliman, El Manaycel Wimp El-Mansoura la, and Kafr Zimran the selection of the studied oleo was done on the basis of area cultivated with tomatoes.
Data were collected by personal interview using questionnaire consists of three parts First includes personal and situational data, second includes rural women's role in the production process of Tomatoes crop, while the Third includes women's role in decision making.
Simple correlation, Multiple correlation and regression, analysis of variance, Least Significant difference, Means and percentages were used to analyze data statistically.
The study showed the following results:
• The contribution of rural «omen's' in the production process of tomatoes crop reached to 20 per cent on the level of all operations, while it was a higher than this on the level of some operations such as the harvesting (37%).
• The study revealed that was a significant al 0.01 level between rural women's contribution in agricultural process related to the Production of tomatoes crop and the two independent variables which arc the family's numbers , and the holding size of Agricultural equipments. A significant relationships at 0.5 level were found also between Rural women's Contributions and the other three independent variables which are : the family's numbers who were contributed in the Agricultural production the contribution of the women investigator in working with the others, and the holding size of home equipments.
• They study revealed that there was a high proportion of women's investigators who obtained a high degree in decision making Process related to the Production of tomatoes crop among who were participated in the process.
• The Study revealed that there was a high production of women's investigators who obtained a high degree in decision making process related to the production of tomatoes crop among who were participated in the process.
• The study revealed that there was one independent variables which is the area cultivated with tomatoes affected rural women's participation in the decision making process to the production of tomatoes crop. This independent variables explained 15.33% of the total variation of rural women's participation in decision making process.
• The study showed that there was a Sigificant difference at 0.01 level between rural women's participation in decisions making process in the deferent production areas' of tomatoes crop while there was no significant difference at 0.05 level between rural women's contribution in the production of the crop and the different production areas; tomatoes.
