Some social and economic effects for application of economic liberalization in the agricultural sector

Abstract: The Objectives of this study are to : (1) identify the level of knowledge of level rural people about agricultural liberalization policy in agriculture (2)identify the satisfaction level of rural people with agricultural liberalization (3), identify the main social and economic effects associated with the application economic liberalization, (4) assess the relationships between some independent variables and each of the knowledge and degree of satisfaction with economic liberalization .
Data were collected from a sample amounted to 200 rural resident from Kafr El- Shikh and Beni- Suef Governorates using a pretested questionnaire . Collected data were coded, tabulated and analyzed using frequencies, percentages, simple correlation, chi- square test, T-test, and stepwise multiple regression.
The main findings of the study were summarized as follows :
I- Both the knowledge level of respondent and their satisfaction level with economic liberalization were relatively high .
2- Changing the value of farm land, and increasing satisfaction with services are the most important social effects of economic liberalization policy.
3- Changing planted crops, increasing income, increasing unemployment, emergence of a more favorable marketing and a more favorable input market are the most important economic effects of economic liberalization policy .
4- There were significant relationships between degree of knowledge of respondents regarding economic liberalization and each variable as follows: age, educational degree, organization membership degree, main occupation, ownership of farm machinery and ownership of productive projects.
5- There were significant relationships between degrees of satisfaction
of respondents with economic liberalization policy and each variable as follows : educational degree, leadership degree, main occupation, and ownership of productive projects.
