Performance level of agricultural extension workers to the extension activities related to preserving of natural sources in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate

Abstract: This research aimed mainly to determining the performance level of agricultural extension workers the extension activities related to preserving of natural sources , and determining some variables explaining the variance of dependent variable , also determining the problem which face the respondents in their performance and their suggestions to overcome them. The study was conducted at El-Hainoul , El-Reyiad , and Kaleen in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate. Data was collected by personal interview using questionnaire from random sample amounting to 120 respondents representing about 43 % of the total number of agricultural extension workers in these three chosen districts . Person simple correlation coefficient , and Step-Wise multiple regression , Chi-square Test , Arithmetic Mean , Standard. Deviation , beside tables , frequencies and Percentages , were used to analyses date . The results of this study revealed that :
1 -Performance level of extension workers was moderate of the extension activities related to preserving of natural sources ( soil , water , air).
2-There was significance relationship at 0.01 level between degree of extension workers performance to the extension activities related to preserving of natural sources ( soil , water , air) ,and education qualification , also was significance relationship at 0.05 level between degree of extension workers performance to the extension activities related to preserving of natural sources ( soil , air ) , with origin of respondent .
3-There was positive significance relationship at 0.01 level between degree of extension workers performance to the extension activities concerning preserving soil , and the following independent variables : agricultural extension training , degree of contact with information resources , and degree of job satisfaction . According to Step-Wise , degree of contact with information resources , and degree of job satisfaction contribute interpreting the variance in the degree of extension workers performance to the extension activities concerning soil ( 33.9 % )
4-There was positive significance relationship at 0.01 level between degree of extension workers performance to the extension activities concerning preserving water, and the following independent variables service of agricultural, service of agricultural extension work, agricultural extension training, degree of contact with information resources, and degree of job satisfaction , also was positive significance relationship at 0.05 level to age. According to Step-Wise , the degree of contact with information resources, and service of agricultural extension work contribute interpreting the variance in degree of extension workers performance to the extension activities concerning preserving water (21.2%).
5-There was positive significance relationship at 0.01 level between degree of extension workers performance to the extension activities concerning preserving air, and the following independent variables: degree of contact with information resources, and was positive significance relationship at 0.05 level to service of agricultural extension work. According to Step-Wise , degree of contact with information resources , contribute interpreting the variance in the degree of extension workers performance to the extension activities concerning preserving air (8.3%).
6-The findings showed many problem which facing the extension workers in many natural sources, and many suggestions to overcome them.
