The future of agricultural extension sevice in Tusfi a project

Abstract: Problem of the present study may be crystallized in a trial to answer the inquiry regarding the way of exploring agricultural extension service in Tushka project. The main objective of the study was to explore future agricultural extension service in Tushka project Some other objectives were affiliated with the main objective. Those objectives were: (I) to identify different suggestions of experts around some axes of future agricultural extension service including: objectives of agricultural extension service, control of agricultural extension work, scale and fields of agricultural extension service, targeted agricultural population, bases of building different agricultural extension programs, methods of financing agricultural extension service, impact of the Project environment, and characteristics of expected agricultural extension service in the Project area; (2) to identify applicability of those suggestion for implementation, and priorities of application in each of the studied axes; (3) to determine relationship between applicability of the presented suggestions and application priority; and (4) to put a concept regarding axes of the studied future agricultural extension service in Tushka project. The study used the descriptive approach. Delphi methods (Delphi Poll) and different expected scenarios were formulated. Delphi method was used in obtaining suggestions of experts in different axes related to the studied agricultural extension service, while the scenarios were used in building the suggested concept related to agricultural extension service in Tushka project.
The study was supported with a group of experts that encompassed academic professors, researchers, and individuals working

in field work related to the same problem. The first questionnaire wa responded by only 115 participants (a response rate of about 67%) Frequency tables, percentages, weighted arithmetic means, and Kendall': rank correlation coefficient were used in analyzing the obtained stud) data. The study findings were extracted from the study analyzed data, and some suggestions were formulated to be raised to policy-makers. The study explained the findings and suggestions in detail.
