The Relative Importance of Information Sources to Breeders in The Field The Sheep Production in Some Villages of Boorg Fl Arab District, Alexandria Governorate

Abstract: This study aimed mainly at:
1 - determining the relative importance of information sources to breeders in field the sheep production through four process (breeding , nutrition , care ,and vetrenary services.
2-Deteimining the relative importance of information sources to breeders in the field the sheep production all-inclusive processes.
3-Determining the degree of differences between information sources of breeders in the four studied process.
4-Determining the differences in the relative importance of information sources to breeders through these processes.
5-Determining the breeders benefit from information sources utilized.
6-Determining the major problems facing breeders and their suggestions to overcome them.
Date were collected by using personal interviews from a random sample amounted 100 respondents representing about 15% from the total in some village of Boorg El Arab District Alexandria Govemorate.
Frequencies , percentages , standard deviation , and Friedman analysis of variance by ranks were used for analyzing data statically. The major study findings can be summarized as follow.
First: Personal experience as self source of information was occupied the first rank, followed by veterinary unit , Animal
production research station neighbourse and friends , agriculture extension agent, extension panel discussion, veterinary pharmacy.
second: There is a significant differences between the breeders information sources and the four studied process at 0.01 level ,which meaning that there is an effect on these process resulting from information sources.
Third: the benefits degree of the breaders from information sources low level (29%) , medium level (40%) , high level (31%).
Fourth : there were six problems facing the great majority of the respondents : high prices of fodders , high prices of veterinary drugs, inadequate of concentrated fodder in summer , shortage veterinary units , far distance veterinary units .
The respondents breeders Suggested five suggestions to face problems of breeders as follow : providing concentrated fodder , reducing price of fodder , reducing price of veterinary drugs , providing enough proper vaccines in veterinary units , necessity of existing of veterinary in the found the veterinary units continuously.
These results should be taken in consideration at planning the extension programs , by using numerous and various sources of information according the nature of every process of these programs , especially during dissemination of technical recommendations concerning sheep production.
