Extension Needs of Rural Women in Producing and Marketing of Origanum Majorana for Export in Abad Sharona village, Menia Governorate in A.R.E

Abstract: The study aims at: 1) idetieying the knowledge needs level of rural women regarding the recommendations of Producing and Marketing of Origanum Majorana for Export, in addition to identify the relationship between the respondents knowledge needs degree as dependent variables and some of their independent variable , in addition to identify their sources of information related to this aspect, data were collected from a sample of the crop farmers wives amounted to( 124) respondents from Menia Governorate represented of Abad Sharona village which cultivated the largest area of the crop . Data were collected by using a pretested questionnaire, through a personal interview. Ratio percent, Coefficient of correlation (Pearson) were used for data analysis.
The results of the study reveled that:
The average of knowledge need degree of the respondents was high and moderate regarding the recommended practices of the crop. There was a significant relation ship only between the respondents knowledge needs degree as dependent variables and in dependent variables included: the size of land holding, the crop cultivated area and the house situation at 0.05 level of significant. The most important sources of information related to this aspect were: the respondents' husbands, the extension female advisor, female rural leader, TV. and their neighbor.
Upon the study results, it is recommended the necessity of planning and implementing effective program to develop the rural women knowledge regarding the recommended practices of Producing and Marketing the crop.
