Some Variables Associated With Social Environment Hygiene in Behera and Menia Governorates

Abstract: The research amid at identifying the levels of social environment hygiene ( SHE), differences between respondents regarding dimensions of this concept , and the relationship between the social environment hygiene and some independent variables B ehera governorate and Minia govemorate were chosen as representatives for lower and upper Egypt . A random sample of 150 respondents were selected for each govemorate.
Data were collected by a questionnaire through personal interview during March and April, 2005. Pearson's correlation coefficient, t- test, and multiple regression ( Step — Wise ) were used for data analyzing.
Results showed that the percentages of respondents regarding community affiliation, services, infra-structures , satisfaction psychological comfort and the total degree of social environment were higher in Behera than Minia , Jesuits also revealed that three is no significant difference between the two governorates concerning the above mentioned four dimensions. Respondent's family social status and respondent's eduction were associated with social environment hygiene . Cosmopoliteness was the most important variable which explain 17% , 18%, 18% of the variance in the three dimensions and the total score of social environment hygiene respectively in Bahera governorate, while the respondent's family social status explain 29%, 25%, 4 %, of the variance in the community affiliation , servicea and infra- structure satisfaction and the total score of social environment hygiene respectively in Minia governorate
