Breeders' Knowledge and Implementation of Technical
Commandments concerning fattening cattle in some villages in
Minia Governorate

Abstract: The paper aimed at identifying breeders' knowledge about technical
commandments concerning fattening cattle, their implementation, and the
problems which face the breeders and how to solve them.
This paper was performed in Minia governorate where 3 big centers were
chosen. From every centre (sector) the biggest two villages in cattle breeders'
number, in each village, discussion group was held, every group has 12
breeders.
They were chosen randomly ,the total number was 72.
The data was collected by group meetings, by using a meeting guide
previously prepared including questions about the research.
The data was collected from the cattle breeders in April 2014.
The data was analysed in descriptive way, schedules, frequencies and
portage to show the results.
The research concluded that:
l-Wheat straw come first in the summer dry fodder by 77.8% the knowledge
about kinds of animals for fattening by 65% 'were cows the bafflers by 30%
and sheep and goat by 5% and that more than 70% of breeders hare good
knowledge about good qualities of animals for fattening.
2-The conditions of good yarn animals for fattening must have under cover by
100%. Of the sample, excision of activities and protective veterinary services
like. Putting food 2 tines a day in the morning and in the evening. by 9l.6%
of the sample, the breeder committees to vaccinations of MFD. By88.8% of
the sample and the breeder's practices before selling meat such as cleaning the
animals body with water by 94.4% of the sample .
. 3-Problems connected with breeding and fattening cattle for meat one of
which was not providing fodder in good prices to the small breeders by 98.7%
of the sample, problem concerning veterinary care like shortage in veterinary
extension by 77.7% of the sample. Extension problems representation lock in:
extensional programs that foci's on fattening animals by 91.6% and the
problems of marketing like the out break of animals by mixing in the markets
by 75% of the breeders.
