Production and preliminary characterization of monoclonal antibodies to foot and mouth disease virus egyptian strain

Abstract: Six weeks old BALB/C mice were inoculated with FMD virus strain O1/2/72 – Egypt used for the antigenic analysis and differentiation between local and reference Egyptian serotypes and subtypes and to elucidate the range of identity and/or variation among the local Egyptian and other reference strains.
All of the selected MAbs were surprisingly non neutralizing and gave titre less than in the serum neutralizing and gave titre less than in the serum neutralization test.
MAbs react with different degrees of intensities with the different FMDV Egyptian local isolates (type O) In Dot-Elisa.
