Monitoring the maternal immune response in kids from goat pox vaccinated dams

Abstract: In this study, six nannies in the period of two and four months of pregnancy susceptible to goat pox virus, were vaccinated with live attenuated goat pox vaccine. Other two susceptible to goat virus, were vaccinated with live attenuated goat pox vaccine. Other two susceptible pregnant nannies were kept as non vaccinated control.
Serum samples which collected post-vaccination before and after parturition, in addition to colostrums> All samples were investigated by virus neutralization test (VNT)and Enzyme linked immunosurbant assay (ELISA). Vacination of nannies at about four months of pregnancy was considered the best time and induces high antibody level in colostrums of nannies and in sera of kids which persisted for four month of their age.
