PCR technique for differentiation of different isolates of Babesia bovis from various geographical regions in Egypt.

Abstract: The present study was conducted on three strains of Babesia bovis piroplasms isolated from three different geographical region in Egypt, namely Behera, Kalubia and Sohag provinces the main target of our study is to approach strain characterization and serotyping. Of Bbovis isolates to prepare an effective vaccine for the control and prophylaxis against bovine babesiosis in Egypt. Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers generated by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was used. PCR identified different polymorphic hands between the three isolates. The results revealed that the B. bovis isolates from Behera and sohag were more similar to each other where the lowest link age distance recorded between them was 0.46 on the other hand , the tow isolated from Behera and kalubia were dissimilar from each other with highest link age level (1.34).
