Trials for preparation of a bivalent oil emulsion inactivated vaccine against Escherichia Coli and Newcastle disease virus infection.

Abstract: An inactivated bivalent vaccine was prepared against Escherichia coli and Newcastle disease virus (E.coli-NDV) vaccine and evaluated in susceptible chickens. The efficacy of such vaccine was compared with that of monovalent E.coli and NDV vaccines. It was found that the bivalent E.coli- NDV vaccine is safe and immunogenic where vaccinated chickens did not show disease signs and were able to withstand the challenge with virulent strains of E.coli and NDV as in monovalent vaccinated birds. All vaccinated birds did not show any substantial differences in their immune response to monovalent and bivalent vaccines as shown serologically by the indirect haemagglutination inhibition (IHA) and haemagglutination (HI) tests
