Comparative studies on the immune response of sheep vacinated with a polyvalent clostridial vaccine treated with different adjuvants

Abstract: Montanide ISA25, montanide ISA 206 and potassium aluminum sulphate were used as adjuvants for a polyvalent clostridial vaccine. The three vaccines were used as adjuvants for a polyvalent clostridial vaccine. the three vaccines were tested in sheep. Serum neutralization test was used for detection of the antibody titre in vaccinated sheep for 42 weeks. The obtained results indicated that the vaccine emulsified with Montanide ISA25 and ISA206 were more potent and gave higher level of antibodies than alum precipitated vaccine. Also the duration of immunity produced from oil vaccines (ISA25 and 206) was longer than produced by alum precipitated one.
