A trial for preparation of combined live newcastle and infectious bronchitis vaccine

Abstract: An experimental trial was carried out to prepare a local combined live against both Newcastle and infectious bronchitis disease. Locally prepared separated monovalent live vaccine was firstly prepared against each disease on specific pathogen free (SPF) eggs. Then titrated and mixed together and lyophilized as a bivalent live vaccine. Chicks were vaccinated with the prepared vaccines as well as the imported one. Humoral immune response in the vaccinated chicks against both viruses was evaluated using teh serum neutralization test and haemagglutination inhibition for infectious bronchitis and Newcastle disease viruses respectively. Vaccination at 7 days of age resulted in a satisfactory immune response regardless of vaccination age.
